The whole point of going on a road trip is to explore and be able to see many parts of the country/world that you would miss out on flying on a plane. But sometimes you wonder, what are those amazing places and things that we should see? Well if you’re planning a road trip that’s going to or through Arizona then buckle up and read on for the best road trip stops in this state.
Grand Canyon
This one may seem obvious but if you haven’t already gone then pack up your trailer and hit the road! The Grand Canyon is a truly breathtaking and beautiful experience that you must see. But it’s not just all about photography, you can also go hiking, biking, ride mules, go rafting on the Colorado River, and more. One of the fun sightseeing experiences is doing Skywalk. Skywalk is a large partial bridge with glass floors that hangs over the canyon. It is something you don’t want to miss.
Antelope Canyon
In our opinion this is a must. If you’re going to Arizona or just driving through you have to go to Antelope Canyon. It is a sandstone slot canyon known for its wave-like structure and the light beams that shine down into the openings. In fact, you’ve probably seen it several times in movies. There isn’t much that needs to be said about this place other than it is absolutely beautiful and everyone should go at least once in their lifetime.
Tucson
Tuscon is a great city in Arizona that has a lot to do and a variety too. A great way to explore the cactus filled desert is to do it on horse. Going horseback riding is a beautiful way to explore. Speaking of cacti, if you want to see these huge things up close and get some amazing pictures be sure to visit Saguaro National Park. This place is full of them and I wasnt joking when I said they are huge! You can also go mountain biking, visit the museum, and check out the great nightlife and have some amazing Mexican food!
Havasu Falls
Okay I’m telling you, you have to go check out this place. Want to see some of the most gorgeous waterfalls you’ve ever seen? Then you need to add Havasu Falls to your road trip. The pictures you can find of it speak for themselves, it’s a gorgeous place. And how great to hang out in the water during the hot Arizona Summer months? You can hike to the falls and enjoy some time in the water and taking pictures. But you can also camp on the campgrounds there! Or you can book a room at the lodge.
