Best Camping Recipes to Try on Your Next Trip
Its no lie that a huge part of camping is sitting around relaxing and eating. In fact, I often find myself finishing one meal only to then already wonder when the next one will be. There’s just something special about having your meals prepared over a campfire and enjoying on the shore of a lake or under the night stars. These are some of the best camp recipes to try out during your next trip!
Blueberry-Cinnamon Campfire Bread
This one is amazing for breakfast! It’ll warm you up in that brisk mountain air and fill you up. There aren’t too many ingredients to bring along and it is easy to make a large amount for a crowd. This will give you that french toast feeling without the hassle and time consumption of frying and flipping in a pan! Plus, you can top this with different things and make it however you want! Maybe next time I’ll try chocolate chip campfire bread.
Camping Breakfast Burritos
If you’re looking for more of a make ahead and then reheat option, this is a great one. Not only is this easy to make, but its even easier to heat up at camp. Each burrito is individually wrapped with foil so when you want to reheat your can just throw them over the fire for a couple of minutes in the morning, then grab and go hiking, fishing, or whatever activity you set out to do. This another one that you can change however you want, just fill with whatever ingredients you want
Spice Up Your Hot Dogs
Hot dogs are a classic camping food because they are so easy and convenient to make! But we don’t want to get sick of the same plain boring hot dog all of the time. Try mixing it up with these hot dog recipes like grilled peppers and pulled pork dogs, cowboy dogs, or chili cheese frito dogs.
Walking Tacos
This one is the ultimate convenient dish and easy on the go. Tacos are delicious but they are not convenient and they have got to be one of the most annoying foods to eat on the go. Not with this recipe! Walking tacos make having tacos while camping doable and easy.
Grilled Campfire Fish
This one is a personal favorite. There’s nothing like having fresh, caught that day campfire grilled fish for dinner. This is hands down the most fresh and least expensive seafood you could ever have. I remember going out on the lake and fishing all day long, coming back to camp with some fresh trout or kokanee, and cooking it up that night for dinner. You can really season and dress this up however you’d like, but my personal favorite is with fresh lemon and bacon. Even if you don’t fish or don’t plan to, you can always bring your own fish to camp with you and use that and i guarantee it will still be good!
Campfire Cones
Campfire cones are great because they are easy, less messy than a s’more, and you can put anything you want in it. If you’re tired of traditional s’mores, just throw some chocolate and mini marshmallows in one and you’ve got yourself a s’more cone. The possibilities are really endless
Grilled Strawberry Shortcake Skewers
Another super easy dessert, this requires really only 3 ingredients: pound cake, strawberries, whipped cream. You can also play around with it and add some other fruit like pineapple or peaches. You just throw everything on a skewer, grill, and then top with whipped cream. So easy!
