No matter where you take your RV or whether you have it parked at home, safety is always important. Check out this helpful safety guide for RVers!

Always Inspect your Vehicle

This may seem tedious at times but it’s important! Be sure to check your RV for anything and everything before and after taking it somewhere. The last thing you want is to break down in the middle of nowhere on the way to your trip or to get ready for your next trip only to find a surprise problem with your RV from the last time you took it out. Make sure to inspect your tires for wear and tear, tire pressure, check your oil, brakes, check things like your water heater, hose, etc. You can never be too careful.

Plan Your Route and Tell Someone Where You’re Going

This one may seem obvious but can be easy to overlook. Whenever you plan a trip be sure to properly plan where you are going and that your route is safe. And never forget to tell at least one person where you will be and for how long just in case something were to happen.

Check the Weather

It’s also important to plan any trips when weather permits. You don’t want to go on a trip and then be stuck in a thunderstorm or in the middle of a hurricane. Be Safe!

Take Proper Equipment and Safety Items

In the event that something goes wrong on your trip you will thank yourself if you have the things you need with you. Make sure to have spare tires, jumper cables, towing equipment, a jack, etc in the event that you break down. Be sure to bring extra water, food, gas, a solar powered cell phone charger, etc in the event that you get lost or something. Bring extra blankets, clothes, matches, gasoline, etc in the event that the weather drops more than you expect. And don’t forget a first aid kit in the event of an injury! All of these and more will ensure you are safe in the event of an emergency.
